Three stories
1. I'm a Facebook addict. I find out a lot of stuff on Facebook, some of which I tell my mom (I don't consider this gossiping as Facebook is public knowledge). She's usually curious where I find out/know these things, to which I reply "Facebook." She keeps threatening to join, and I keep telling her that she can't. I told her she'd never figure out how to join anyway (I also told her she couldn't join MySpace). This cycle goes on and on. I sent her an email a few days ago about starting a blog and she sent me an email back saying she wanted a blog too.
Yesterday, randomly, I got this email (a direct copy and paste):
"I have hired a web page person who is going to put me on MYFace and create a blog for me!! I am cute now and people need to see me."
2. A conversation about my blog:
Me: "Did you go visit my blog?"
Mom: "Yes, although there wasn't much on it. I even left a comment."
Me: "No you didn't."
Mom: "Yes I did."
(At this point I go to my blog, check the comments and see that there isn't a comment from her. I then proceed to ask how she left a comment)
Me: "Did you see this screen?"
Mom: "Yes."
Me: "Did you type your comment in here."
Mom: "Yes."
Me: "Did you enter the special code in here."
Mom: "What special code?"
Me: "The one right here."
Mom: "Why would I do that?"
(I then explained the rationale behind this)
Mom: "That sounds too complicated. I don't think I'll make any more comments."
3. A text I got in February:
"Hey kate look who is texting U better watch out"
(Update: My mom said texting takes too long and she probably won't use it)
Maybe the stories are lame, but I got a good laugh out of them. I guess I'll keep her around (although she is many years away from needing to live with me).
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! Thanks for everything!

Haaaaaaaaaaa Kate, I love it! You are going to be a great blogger. We really need to get going on the Spinster blog...once I get moved and get my life figured out.
Okay, your mom is hillarious. I would keep her around too. I have been through some of the same things with my mom. She is always reading my friends' blogs and leaving comments and telling me of things she read on people's blogs...it is pretty funny.
The first time she text messaged me she thought she was pretty stinking awesome. She did okay with it but when we found out she was doing it while driving we had to put an end to it.
And...my grandma has left me countless comments on my blog...but I have yet to see any of them.
Fun post! Tell your mom hi. I hope to get out to Ohio to visit soon!
I can see my mom doing the same thing. She told me that blogs are pointless so she doesn't even know I have one.
Your mom sounds awesome!
Be sure to post a link to her blog, so we can e-meet this lady, be e-introduced, and at least get the e-name of that woman.
Oh, and "little ball of fury"? Honestly? Who are you kidding?
I meant that more about "fury" than any other adjective, by way of public declaration.
LOVE it!
I have the same kind of mom! Are we sisters? My mom always tries to look at my facebook so she can check out Marcus and see if any girls posted on his wall. She is stalking her own son on facebook. I am so close to starting my blog.
